Full Tilt Rakeback Deductions:
Ever since the Cake Poker Network introduced deduction free rakeback, many players have talked about what deductions are taken from their rakeback on other sites. One site that does make deductions is Full Tilt Poker, and it is important to clear up what deductions are made, and how much these will cost you.
What does Full Tilt Poker deduct for?
FTP deducts bonuses, Iron Man bonuses, payment processing fees, freeroll winnings, tournaments with overlay and store purchases from your rakeback.
How much bonus money is deducted from my rakeback?
This can be a bit confusing. If you clear 100 in Deposit bonuses or Iron Man bonuses, that will be deducted from your MGR, which will reduce your rakeback by 27 dollars.
Will bonus deductions lead to negative MGR?
No. You pay more in rake than you get back in bonus, so a bonus by itself cannot put you in the negatives. It will just reduce your rakeback. However, if you were to make a deposit, clear some bonus and make a store purchase in the same month you might end up in the negative!
How much do store purchases hurt my rakeback?
Not as much as you’d suspect. For every 1000 FTP points you spend, 5 dollars is deducted off your MGR. 27% of that comes off your rakeback, so for every 1000 points spent, you lose $1.35.
What about freerolls?
You are only charged when you win a freeroll, so in the end you only end up winning a bit less from the freeroll than you thought, you aren’t taking a hit every time you enter one. However, given the size of the fields of FTP freerolls, you may want to think twice about entering given this lowers your EV slightly. We have no information on what size of an MGR hit you take if you win the freerolls for Phil Gordon Instructional DVDs.
Isn’t this a bit unfair?
A lot of players ask this, but honestly, no. Deducting overlay from your MGR is a bit much, but freeroll money has to come from somewhere, as do the store prizes, and bonus money. While it sucks to end up in the red for a month in MGR, to do so you had to make some serious bonus money and purchases to get to that point. We aren’t just defending Full Tilt because we offer rakeback there either, remember we have to field any angry emails from players who had their rakeback reduced!
